Rundown
In this episode, Mexie interviews Greg from In The Roots Podcast about the role of our global financial institutions in the making (and re-making) of the Global South and in exacerbating the refugee crisis. Greg provides the history of the IMF and World Bank and the historical and present day consequences of the structural adjustment policies these institutions have imposed around the globe. We close by discussing the responsibility that Western populations hold to not only accept refugees but also to directly challenge the imperial core and US neoliberal hegemony.
